Latatious Morris was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, famously known as the home of the Blue Angels. After graduating high school, she followed her dream of living in New York City, where she spent nearly 12 years building her life and career. A spontaneous visit with friends brought her to North Carolina in 2010, and within a month, she made Raleigh her new home, beginning her journey in the behavioral health field.
Latatious moved to Knightdale in 2014 and quickly fell in love with the town’s charm, especially in the fall. She immersed herself in the community, eager to learn and connect with her neighbors. What she found was a place that reminded her of home, full of warmth, possibility, and belonging. It didn’t take long for Knightdale to become more than just a place to live; it became her true home.
Her desire to give back began with service on the Churchill HOA Board and its landscape and social committees. After more than three years in that role, she sought to contribute on a broader scale, joining the Land Use Review Board (LURB) in 2018. There, she served as both a quasi-judicial member and later as LURB Chair, helping shape responsible growth in Knightdale. In 2021, she was appointed to the Knightdale Town Council, where she proudly continues to serve.
Latatious brings over a decade of professional experience in project coordination, property management, and administrative leadership, having worked with companies both locally and nationally. In both her professional and public service roles, she is known for her attention to detail, collaborative leadership, and commitment to accessible and equitable solutions for all.
A proud graduate of East Carolina University (Magna Cum Laude) with a degree in Communications, Latatious is currently pursuing her Master of Public & Nonprofit Administration at Metro State University. She is most passionate about Housing Affordability, Youth Leadership Engagement, Economic Growth and Development, Community Togetherness, and Accessibility for All Abilities. Her vision includes more sidewalks, bike lanes, walkable spaces, and fully connected greenways in Knightdale, along with consistent, reliable public transportation.
In 2023, Latatious founded the East Wake Local Government Association to strengthen collaboration between eastern Wake municipalities, including Rolesville, Zebulon, and Wendell. The group meets quarterly to share issues, goals, achievements, and solutions, offering each other support, encouragement, and a platform for partnership across town councils and senior staff.
Outside of her work, Latatious actively supports organizations such as the American Heart Association, Relay for Life, and the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, where she shaved her head in 2019 to raise funds for childhood cancer research. She’s happiest when reading on the beach, spending time with friends and family, or visiting her favorite local spots: the Veterans Memorial at Knightdale Station Park and the Knightdale Environmental Park.
Latatious is running for re-election because she believes in a thriving, inclusive, and connected Knightdale, and she’s committed to building a future where everyone feels at home.

Because Knightdale should be accessible to all, I want to ensure every resident of Knightdale and every visitor to our beautiful town has access anywhere they would like to go. People should be able to easily access any part of the Mingo Creek greenway trail to take a walk, go for a bike ride, or simply stop and enjoy nature. We should also provide sidewalks all over town to ensure the safety of our residents by keeping them off of the main roadway and away from oncoming traffic, especially on primary roads where this is the most dangerous. Lastly, we also need to provide our town with easy accessibility to consistent, reliable, affordable public transportation, which would enable those without vehicles, or those looking for a more environmentally friendly transportation option to access work, shopping, appointments, and friends and family in the area.
Our youth deserve more than just screen time and empty evenings — they need real opportunities to connect, grow, and thrive. That’s why I’m advocating for a Youth Enrichment & Recreation plan focused on expanding activities, resources, and dedicated spaces for young people, especially ages 15- to 18-year-olds. This initiative will focus on creating safe, inclusive spaces as part of our future community center; as well as supporting after-school programs, weekend events, and leadership opportunities. Investing in our youth today means building a stronger, more connected community for tomorrow. From enriching programs in arts, sports, and career skills to a place they can truly call their own, this plan ensures our young people feel seen, supported, and valued right here in their hometown.
The development of Knightdale is vital to our town and our citizenry. In order to attract successful, lasting businesses here, we have to make smart choices about future developments. The first step is following the Knightdale Next2035 Comprehensive Plan. Bringing in economically friendly developments to Knightdale helps nourish a community where people can move here, start families, buy homes, and be productive members of a welcoming place where everyone can truly work, live, and play.
One of the most important things about living in a new place is to find a sense of community. No matter if you were born in Knightdale, another part of North Carolina, or somewhere else completely, new residents and visitors should feel safe and welcome here, just as I did. One way to do that is by creating safe environments where families can come together and bond in the parks, on the trailways, local hangout spots, and in their neighborhoods. I want to open the lines of communication between the town’s Council and its residents to make sure that Knightdale residents are heard and fairly represented. This kind of open communication can help keep our community bonded together. Knightdale should continue to strive to be a place that is diverse and inclusive for people from all walks of life.
Send Latatious a message with any questions or concerns, and she'll get back to you with answers as soon as she can.
